NVQs for Adults

National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are available for around 90% of occupations found in the UK, so chances are there will be one to suit you.
What is an NVQ?
NVQs are work-related, hands-on qualifications that you can apply directly to the world of work.
You can do an NVQ while learning on the job, but it's also possible to study them at college, night school, or through private study - or a combination of any of these methods.
NVQs are based upon your ability to do a particular job and do not involve formal exams or tests. Instead they are based upon competencies, which show that you can do a job to national standards, have up-to-date skills, and prove what you can do in practical situations.
NVQs are available for almost all occupations including: animals, plants and the land; construction; engineering; manufacturing; transport; health, social care and protective services; business services; and communication.
What qualifications do I need?
NVQs have no entry qualifications, are very flexible and are available to anyone at any age or stage of their career.
