The North East’s largest independent business organisation has launched awards to find the most inspirational female apprentices, employees and leaders.
North East England Chamber of Commerce’s Inspiring Females Awards is launched today Thursday 15 July with the aim of celebrating the success of women in the region’s business community.
Alix Bolton, Chair of the Chamber’s Women’s Leadership Forum said: “We have some fantastic female role models in our region who are perfect examples of innovators, leaders and entrepreneurs. However, we often don’t find out about their achievements and it is so important we spread the word about what they do so it can inspire others and enable us to congratulate them as well. We want to give women the platform to shout about their successes and these awards will do just that.”
The associate sponsor of the awards is Bernicia. Andrea Malcolm, executive director, people, homes and communities said: “We’re delighted to be associate sponsor of the Inspiring Females Awards and being part of championing women in the workplace across our region.
“Having a gender diverse business is so important to us at Bernicia and we’re making sure that everyone has access to the same great opportunities and are working together on an equal footing. Half of our Executive Team are female, and we have many more brilliant women employed across our business, who are achieving great things every day.
“I’m really looking forward to hearing the stories and accomplishments of other inspiring women, who are breaking down gender disparity at senior levels and in specific sectors and industries, helping businesses recognise the value of inclusion in workplaces across the North East and beyond.”
Among the categories are the most inspiring employers, (there are a range of categories of business size) inspiring females, apprentice of the year, community & CSR inspiring female, sponsored by Esh Group and inspiring female business leader of the year, sponsored by Muckle.
While North East BIC is sponsoring the small and essential category for Inspiring Female and Inspiring Employer.
More information is available on www.neechamberawards.co.uk/IF2021. The closing date is 16 September 2021.
