Durham County Cricket Club

County Champions Durham County Cricket Club are based in Chester le Street. The Emirates Durham ICG is one of the few international sports venues in the North East with some extremely impressive plans for further development to take the permanent capacity to 20,000, on-site hotel and Gateway Building.

Emirates Durham ICG plays host to a variety of cricket including twenty20, one day and four day as well as internationals each year with an Ashes Test Match to be played in 2013.

Working with NECC

The Durham County Cricket Foundation works with people within the North East community using the power of sport to provide people with inspiration, motivation and raised self-esteem. The activity programmes are based around Health, Education & Skills, Social Cohesion, Grassroots Sport and Club Development. Through the Foundation the Cricket Club will work closely with NECC looking to provide apprenticeship opportunities throughout its progressive sports business.
