
Chamber Business Awards 2024 Shortlist Announced

The Chamber has announced the shortlist for its popular Business Awards, with 32 businesses making it to the final stages.
The strong list of contenders, who have a chance to receive regional and national recognition, features businesses of all sizes and sectors from around the North East.
Larger business of the year finalists are Ad Gefrin Anglo-Saxon Museum and Whisky Distillery, Great North Air Ambulance Service, New College Durham and Wingrove Motor Company Ltd. Whilst small business of the year contenders include Erudus, LM Global Telecoms and Oculus HR.
Competing for community business of the year are Karbon Homes, Teesside Uni, The Alnwick Garden, and Tyne & Wear Archives and Museums.
Those shortlisted in the entrepreneur of the year category include John Ritchie from JLR Contracts, Razorblue’s Dan Kitchen and Chloë Clover from Wander Films.
Chamber events manager Ashley Carney, who runs the awards, said: “We’ve had another excellent year of entries for the Chamber Business Awards 2024.
“The awards bring together incredible success stories from a range of regional businesses and highlight the amazing achievements of the North East’s business community.

Our Business Awards, now in their fourth year, celebrate a wide range of sectors and areas of excellence, including digital revolution business of the year. The three members in this category are Co Wheels Car Club, Learning Curve and Spark EPoS.
The region’s recognised rising stars are Nathaniel Cutler from Komatsu UK Ltd, PD Ports’ Emily Clark and Owen Potts from Talentheads.
Businesses competing for top honours in the people and work business of the year category include HTG, Muckle LLP and Northumbrian Water.
Chamber members being acknowledged for their strides in green innovation are I-Glo, LUMO and MYCO.
The region’s international trade prowess is recognised with the international trade business of the year shortlist including Cleveland Cable Co Ltd, Walker Filtration and XL Precision Technologies Ltd.
Businesses shortlisted in the local economy of the future business of the year category are Razorblue, Sweeney Miller LLP and Wingrove Motor Group Ltd.
Regional categories for the Business Awards include small business of the year, larger business of the year, entrepreneur of the year, community business of the year, rising star and Chamber business of the year.
National category winners enjoy an automatic finalist position at the British Chambers of Commerce awards. These categories include people and work business of the year, digital revolution business of the year, green innovation business of the year, international trade business of the year and local economy of the future business of the year.
Tickets for our Business Awards final on Thursday, 27 June at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music are due to be released on Eventbrite soon.
