Monday 8th March is International Women’s Day. The Chamber celebrated with our popular Chamber Inspiring Females Online. This event aims to inspire and connect women in business across the North East of England.
International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. International Women’s Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people.
Hear from both Alix Bolton, Chair of our Women’s Leadership Forum and an Inspiring Female in Chamber membership and from Angela Carney, Carney Consulting.
Angela Carney started on construction sites as a day release ONC Civil Engineer Apprentice 30 years ago and after University and working all around the UK advanced into Site Management. She has worked on Civil Engineering and Building projects ranging up to £15M projects, managing all the trades involved in these projects. She now owns and runs her own construction specialising Health & Safety consultancy and training company, employing 14 people.
Angela will talk about the challenges she has faced and how from these she has learnt the valuable lessons that have led her to be successful in her own business in the construction sector.
