We’re delighted to announce the return of our larger business summit this autumn!

Taking place at Hilton Newcastle Gateshead on 30 November, this is the only conference of its kind in North East England, bringing together senior leaders from our medium and large business members.

Attending this unique event gives you the opportunity to hear leading speakers from across the UK, focusing at this summit on energy – security, cost, supply and the future of energy in our region – looking specifically on the energy challenges affecting larger businesses.

The only conference of its kind in North East England the summit brings together senior leaders from our medium and large business members from a range of sectors across the region. As well as the opportunity to explore the regional and national business landscape, with John McCabe, our CEO, and our policy and representation team.

We hold the summit twice each year, exploring different topics, creating a platform for peer-to-peer collaboration, knowledge sharing and the opportunity to develop new contacts or business opportunities.

Confirmed speakers:

Professor Sara Walker, professor of energy, Newcastle University & Director, The Centre for Energy. Prof Walker is a leading figure in the energy research sector, with a vast CV in both academic and the private sectors, focusing on renewable energy and energy efficiency in buildings, energy policy, energy resilience, and whole energy systems.

Christine McKie, managing director, PX Energy Solutions will be discussing decarbonisation in business, as a cost saving, the transition from gas usage, and giving practical tips on how larger businesses can prepare for this winter. PX Group are leading provider of services in process, energy and high complexity industrial sectors. They are responsible for processing around 30% of the UK’s gas supply and operate a number of strategic UK sites such as gas terminals, power plants, renewables and chemical sites.

Winton Keenen QPM, Chief Constable at Northumbria Police leads the region’s largest police force covering a diverse geographic and demographic.

There will also be an opportunity to hear from Chamber CEO, John McCabe, policy and representation director, Rhiannon Bearne and assistant policy director, Rachel Anderson.
