The response to our Ad Gefrin Anglo-Saxon Museum and Whisky Distillery from visitors has been outstanding. We welcomed over 64,000 people in our first year of opening, almost double the figures we projected for year two, let alone year one. This has contributed significantly to Northumberland’s overall growth in visitor numbers to 10.12 million in 2023 driven by more than 8 million day visitors – an increase of 214,000 (2.7%) on the previous year.
Why are you a Chamber Member?
Alan Ferguson has worked with the NECC for many years as head of the family firm, Fergusons. As a family, we believe in the North East region. Ad Gefrin is a regeneration project at heart, we believe in investing in North Northumberland and the wider region. Membership means we are rubbing shoulders with like-minded businesses. Together we can create a vibrant, sustainable future for our region.
