This week we caught up with Aly Henderson, finance consultant, to find out how she’s going further with Chamber membership.
Where are you based?
We are based in Whickham.
How many employees do you have?

Give us a brief overview of your business.
I provide freelance Finance Director services to ambitious small and medium sized businesses.
I might work with a business for a few days each month, or I might join them on a short-term project.
The aim of my work is to help business owners and their teams to understand and improve the financial performance of their business, for example to increase profitability or to improve cash flows.
I fit the gap between a Bookkeeper and a year end Accountant, and enable businesses to have a finance expert by their side, without the cost of a full time Finance Director.
I pride myself on delivering decision making support that is easy to understand and jargon free.
Tell us about a recent business success.
I’ve received some lovely feedback over recent months from clients who feel more confident and assured about their financial performance after working with me. Even better than that they are seeing a positive impact on their sales and profitability!
How has being a Chamber member impacted your growth and networking opportunities?
Being a Chamber member has given me access to a wide variety of networking events across the region and as a relatively new business it has helped me to broaden my network. I also like the variety of online learning opportunities for my own and my businesses development.
