The Chamber held a special awards ceremony to highlight the incredible achievements of the North East’s business community.
Held at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, our Business Awards celebrate growth, innovation, technology, diversity and creativity, and bring together incredible success stories from a range of local businesses.
Award categories include Rising Star, Digital Revolution Business of the Year and Green Innovation Business of the Year, with winners of the national categories going on to become finalists in the British Chambers of Commerce awards.
John Johnston, chief executive of Chamber Business Awards sponsor Bernicia, said: “We’ve had a fantastic time celebrating the region’s incredible businesses, who are all playing their part in ensuring the North East continues to be a great place to live, work and do business.
“The Chamber awards showcase innovation, collaboration and our shared determination to help the North East grow and prosper. A huge congratulations to all of tonight’s worthy winners.”
Erudus were announced overall Business of the Year and also received the regional Small Business of the Year award. The company is a market leading source of accurate allergy, nutritional and technical product data, populated by the food industry.
Jon Shayler, chief executive officer at Erudus, said: “We were absolutely thrilled to win Small Business of the Year and completely floored to win Business of the Year as well – particularly given the high quality of the shortlisted nominees and the members of the North East Chamber of Commerce as a whole.
“It’s already been such an amazing year for Erudus, and I could not be prouder of our growing team, all they have achieved, and what they already look set to achieve in the near future – this is the cherry on the top!”
