Nadine Hudspeth, Chair of the Chamber’s Education, Employment & Skills Forum and Director of Marketing and Communications, Estates and Health and Safety, Corporation Administration at Gateshead College:

“As thousands of students across the region collect their AS and A Level and vocational technical results today we want to congratulate them and wish them well for the future. Seeing what our young people have achieved, despite the challenges they’ve had to overcome, is reassuring for their future and ours. They’ve shown a resilience and strength of character that will serve them well as they move into higher education, apprenticeships or jobs and become future employees or business owners.

It’s also really important to remember that, for those not getting the results they’d hoped for, it’s really not the end of the world. This is one step on your journey and if it takes you in a different direction, that’s fine – speak to you school or college about the options open to you, they are there to help.”
