A one day course in Durham for business owners and directors who need to understand the numbers in their business, but were never taught to read them.
Most business owners can tell you their turnover. Far fewer could tell you exactly what their accounts are saying, or what to ask when the monthly figures land on the table.
Knowing Your Numbers is a practical one day course, led by Stephen Paul of Valued, for business owners, directors and anyone in a business who needs to understand the numbers. You bring your own accounts and work on those rather than a case study, in a small group of no more than eight. Nobody is ever asked to share their figures with the room.
By the end of the day you’ll be able to read a set of accounts and say what’s happening in the business, explain why profit and cash are different, work out your breakeven, and know what to ask about a monthly management pack.
The price includes lunch, a printed workbook, six spreadsheet tools, an hour one to one with Stephen on your own figures, an online follow up session, and an ongoing invitation to Valued’s quarterly Numbers Clinic.
Stephen Paul is the founder of Valued, a human centred accountancy, coaching and advisory firm in Durham. An ACCA accountant, business coach and Platinum Xero partner, he sits on the Sage Accountancy Advisory Board and has spoken at Accountex London and the Digital Accountancy Show. He helps business owners understand their numbers in plain English, so they worry less, decide better and get more of their life back.
