Framing the future: Fixing the housing system
Date published:
Framing the Future is the Chamber’s new events series where we take a deep dive into the North East’s big political and economic issues with expert speakers to discuss their research and ideas.
Each session will end with a panel Q+A session, allowing members to get involved in the debate, raise their own research and ideas. The goal is to ultimately explore these topics and their possible solutions as ways of levelling up our region by sharing cutting edge research and ideas between our members.
In this webinar we will take a look at central problems facing the UK model of housing and explore how those issues could be fixed. To do so, we’ll be looking to Vienna’s housing system, often lauded as the most innovative and sustainable system in Europe, for inspiration.
Speakers and agenda:
Jonathan Webb, Senior Research Fellow focusing on housing and homelessness at IPPR North
Johannes Lutter, Head of Future Cities at Urban Innovation Vienna
Both speakers will present their research and ideas before Jonathan Walker, Director of Policy at the Chamber who will then host a panel style Q+A, where attendees had the opportunity to ask the speakers questions on the topic.
