The Chamber is offering flexible term, serviced city centre offices to local businesses.

Based on Westgate Road in Newcastle, the Stamp Exchange has been fully refurbished to meet the needs of modern businesses and has quick and easy access to the shops, bars and restaurants within the city centre and Quayside areas.

The property, which is behind a listed façade, is set to be a hive of activity with businesses of all sizes and sectors using the dynamic space, and is a two-minute walk from Newcastle Central Station.

George Davies, services and facilities officer at the Chamber, said: “The Chamber is dedicated to helping the region’s businesses thrive and the Stamp Exchange is another way that we’re working to do that.

“All of the suites have been fully refurbished and are offered on a short-term, flexible license agreement.

“Currently, two serviced offices are still available, fitted for 10 staff. Offices share communal spaces with breakout zones, meeting rooms, phone booths and kitchens.

“These offices are also available for day bookings for teams who need a central place to work collaboratively. There is also a bookable boardroom available.

“It’s the perfect place to join a community of growing businesses.”

SQCDP is a Newcastle-based startup which digitises traditional paperwork and spreadsheet-based systems for manufacturing businesses.

Its founder and CEO Stephen Mitchell and co-founder and chief technology officer Brian Russell recently moved into the Stamp Exchange and are now looking to expand their business.

Stephen said: “We’re thinking big and we’re giving ourselves the right platform to perform. We need the vibe, community and flow to help enrich us. Being in the Stamp Exchange gives us the look and feel we want, and we can benefit from the perks.

“Our new, younger staff want different things from work. Being in the centre of town allows us to set up what we need now and in the future.

“The space provides us with flexibility as the business grows. We need opportunities and the Chamber space provides that.”

SQCDP, which stands for safety, quality, cost, delivery and people, received support after successfully applying for accelerator programmes, as well as angel investors. Since January 2023, SQCDP has worked with big names such as Senstronics, Salamander Pumps, Thomas Swan, Siemens, Marelli and William Smith.

Stephen added: “We’ve got a team, we’ve got a good culture and we’ve got everything we need here.

“We will always be based in North East but we need to think big. We want to bring a bit of Silicon Valley to Newcastle. Shy bairns get nowt.”

Aneela Ali, executive director of finance and corporate services at the Chamber, said: “We’re delighted to see the Stamp Exchange emerge as a vibrant hub for our members and the region’s businesses. Our refurbished, flexible spaces in the heart of Newcastle city centre create a dynamic business community, representing so much of what Chamber membership is about. We’re excited to welcome more organisations, supporting their journey to success.”
