This week we caught up with the education and training experts to find out how they’re going further with Chamber membership.

We are based in Newton Aycliffe.

How many employees do you have?

We are a team of 30!

Give us a brief overview of your business.

NC Group Ltd are a private company that was set up by Lee Childs & Ian Nelson both experts in education and training delivery. We provide bespoke training and consultancy services for our customers, supporting workforce development to future proof workforces and reduce skills gaps. The expertise within our team allows us to meet the needs of employers, by providing a high-quality tailored services, resulting in our customers receiving the training that they want and need rather than generic off the shelf packages.



Tell us about a recent business success.

NC Group had it’s first full Ofsted inspection in January 2025 and was rated outstanding all five key areas: education quality, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and apprenticeships. As well as “overall effectiveness” rated as outstanding too. This recognition reflects the hard work of our staff, the dedication of our learners and the trust of our employer partners. At NC Group, we are passionate about empowering the next generation and this milestone strengthens our commitment to excellence and living up to our ‘training excellence for industry’ tagline.

How has being a Chamber member impacted your growth and networking opportunities?

Being a member of the North East Chamber of Commerce has significantly boosted growth and networking by providing access to a wide range of valuable resources and connections. Through their numerous events, we’ve had the opportunity to meet and collaborate with other businesses in the region, creating strong professional relationships.
