Quarterly Call to Action: Share Your Thoughts
Date published:
Now that businesses are into the thick of trading in 2023, it’s important for us as a Chamber to understand our members’ concerns and how everyday business is faring. Our first Quarterly Economic Survey of the year is currently being conducted and we’re inviting all members to take part. This work is shared with key stakeholders in the region, and helps to make sure our policy and representation work is well-informed and data driven. By doing this, it makes sure that the Chamber’s membership is put at the heart of what we do and say.
Looking back at 2022, the Quarterly Economic Survey of Q4 showed some real positives for exporters amongst a backdrop of economic uncertainty. From what our respondents have said, it seems that more of our members are beginning to see an increase in both export sales, and export orders. However, for most businesses the three main issues of inflation, energy prices, and staff costs remain. We’ve seen this month the effect these are having on firms’ ability to employ people, with vacancies reducing.
To get involved and give your perspective this year, you can find our Q1 2023 survey here. The survey closes on the 9th of March, so we’d love to hear from you by then.
