“Grow Your Team, Backed by Funding” is a plain-English look at how apprenticeship funding actually works for employers: what's covered, what isn't, and how a funded apprenticeship compares to hiring and training someone the traditional way. No sales pitch, no jargon, just the information employers need to decide if it's right for their business.

Why it matters for local employers

Pitman's Newcastle centre supports employers across the North East with apprenticeship training and placements. Businesses here regularly tell us the same thing: they want to grow their team, but recruitment costs and training time make it hard to justify. Apprenticeship funding exists to solve exactly that problem, but most employers have never had it explained to them by someone outside a sales conversation.

What to expect

The session includes a real employer's perspective from Peter, who took on an apprentice through his own business and will share what actually happened, not just the theory. Pitman's apprenticeship trainers will cover funding eligibility, cost breakdowns, and what the process looks like from first enquiry to a fully trained team member.
