HiThrive offers accessible business consultancy and virtual assistance to small and medium-sized businesses. What has been your top tip for keeping business going during Covid-19?
Sadly, there isn’t a manual for these things, which is a shame as it’s a myth that everyone who starts his or her own company is a natural entrepreneur. Most businesses exist because somebody somewhere had a bright idea (either one of their own or one that originally belonged to someone else).
The hard bits of running a business won’t simply go away, no matter how far you bury your head in the sand. And whiling away your evenings working on the areas where you feel most comfortable – so at least you can feel like you’re being productive – is not a long-term fix. It’s also the reason why many businesses fail.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Everyone needs someone who can understand the worries and frustrations we feel; someone to whom we can tell the truth. Because when everything’s out in the open, we can resolve our problems.
It’s the same in business.
