Member Spotlight: The Sprout Guy
Date published:
This week we caught up with the HR speaker and coach to find out how they’re going further with Chamber membership.
Where are you based?
I’m based in Washington!
How many employees do you have?
Only one member of the team… me!
Give us a brief overview of your business.
Helping Business Owners and Professionals bogged down with stress, beat burnout by providing a life-proof (‘sprout-sweater’s approach) plan to get life, work and health back on your terms. Supporting HR professionals by taking the stress out of wellbeing. Speaker, trainer and coach known as the Sprout Guy, aka Burnout Bloke. I do this by empowering people with bespoke workshops designed to build resilience, manage stress, and navigate change with confidence. I also support managers with practical tools to lead well, foster psychological safety, and hold meaningful wellbeing and performance conversations.
Tell us about a recent business success.
After running a speaking, training and coaching business focused on stress and wellbeing, including appearing on TV with Davina McCall in 2018, I finally embraced the unofficial name given my clients – the Sprout Guy. Using cabbages and sprouts as a metaphor for dealing with stress, overload and burnout, I have recently myself supporting business owners who are ‘knocking on the door of burnout’ and feeling isolated and stuck.
As part of this I have reformatted my podcast ‘The Midlife Reshape’ to seasonal format with the first season coming soon, doing a deep-dive on burnout. This has led to some amazing connections and learning enabling me to support clients even more effectively.
How has being a Chamber member impacted your growth and networking opportunities?
I joined the Chamber with a specific goal of raising my profile within the North East, building connections and my reputation.
The Chamber has proved to be a vibrant connecting place enabling collaborations and building trust to the extent that I am being approached as the ‘burnout bloke’.
