A brief overview of your business:

The Walk & Talk Trust is a charity, operating across the north of England ( Northumberland, Durham, Cumbria and North Yorkshire ) to promote the physical health and mental wellbeing benefits that can be derived from walking and talking as part of a normal healthy exercise regime.

“The Big Smile” is our ambitious annual summer fundraising campaign of 50 fully guided fundraising walks for adults on different dates in different locations during June, July and August. Our experienced walk leader team will cover the entire 1,000 km but they are looking for people to join them and to help them fundraise on different daily Stages of their journey.

The funds raised will be used to educate and arrange organised guided walks for groups of schoolchildren and socially disadvantaged adults throughout the region and beneficiaries will receive a free pair of walking boots to encourage their ongoing participation in healthy exercise. The more money raised, the greater the number of beneficiaries will be.

What has been your top tip for keeping business going during Covid-19?

Our charity is all about connecting. Connecting people to other people, to nature and to their environment.

People operate best when they put down the technology, get outdoors into space and have the time just to slow down, to think clearly and to connect.

We make a point of going for regular long ( socially distanced ) walks

Why are you a Chamber Member?

To connect with other Members and to promote the work of our charity www.walkandtalktrust.co.uk and its annual fundraising campaign www.bigsmileuk.co.uk
