Northumbrian Water Limited

Sector: Energy, Waste & Utilities

Northumbrian Water Group Limited (NWG) owns a number of companies, the largest of these companies, Northumbrian Water Limited, is one of the 10 regulated water and sewerage businesses in England and Wales. In the north east of England, we trade as Northumbrian Water, and in the south east of England, we trade as Essex & Suffolk Water. As part of our group our commercial company offers many services available to businesses across the UK. Our core function is to supply drinking water to 2.7million people in the north east and safely take away wastewater to treat and return it to the natural environment. We were the first UK water company to recycle 100% of our wastewater sludge to generate energy – ‘Power from poo’. This has helped us reduce our carbon emission by 50% since 2009 and we will be carbon neutral by 2027. Sustainability is at the core of who we are. This means protecting and enhancing the environment in everything we do; being the best we can in meeting our customers’ needs and having a positive impact on the communities where we operate.
