Novus

FOR MORE THAN TWO DECADES, WE HAVE BEEN DELIVERING EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO ADULTS AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN ENGLAND'S PRISONS. Over the years we have built a reputation as an innovator and leading light in the fight to reduce re-offending rates by transforming people's lives through learning and skills. In September 2015 we launched our new organisation, Novus, as a response to feedback from colleagues, partners and stakeholders. As a standalone organisation within the LTE group, we are becoming even more focused on the justice landscape, giving us a greater opportunity to respond to our customer and stakeholder needs. We will build on our unique sector experience, developed over 20 years, whilst retaining the trust and capability that comes with being part of the group, with access to the wider group services, including our significant Apprenticeship programmes. Over the years our role within the justice sector has grown and diversified. From our starting point as a provider of prison education in nine prisons in the North West and Yorkshire, to our current position as a provider of education, training and employability services to prisoners and offenders in the community in over 100 locations in England. As we move forward under the new banner of Novus, we have a great opportunity to build on our heritage whilst strengthening our position as experts in the sector. We are laying the foundations for change and leading the way as a new not-for-profit social enterprise, the first in our sector, with new and innovative approaches. We are the top performing provider of education, training and employability services to prisoners and offenders in the country. The latest inspections by HMIP and Ofsted of our provision in prisons graded 80% 'good' or 'outstanding', the complete reverse of the national figure of just 33% identified in the 2014/15 HMIP Annual Report.
