Chamber launches 2026 Inspiring Women in Business Awards

We have launched our Inspiring Women in Business Awards 2026, inviting Chamber members from across the region to celebrate the outstanding women, businesses and role models helping to shape the North East’s economy

The awards recognise the achievements of women making a difference in their organisations, industries and communities, while also celebrating employers that are creating inclusive workplaces where women can thrive.

Open exclusively to Chamber members, the awards showcase talent from businesses across every size and sector, from start-ups and small businesses to larger employers and internationally trading organisations.

Ashley Carney, events and awards manager at the Chamber, said: “The Inspiring Women in Business Awards are about recognising the incredible women who are driving change, breaking down barriers and making a lasting impact across our region.

“The North East is home to exceptional talent, and these awards provide an opportunity to celebrate the people and organisations championing equality, inspiring future generations and helping our business community grow stronger.

“I encourage all Chamber members to enter and help us celebrate the region’s exceptional women and businesses. Best of luck to everyone taking part.”

The awards celebrate excellence across 12 categories, recognising inspiring business leaders, entrepreneurs, apprentices, rising stars, community champions and employers committed to supporting and developing women in business.

Newcastle International Airport returns as headline sponsor, continuing its commitment to championing women in business and supporting the region's thriving business community.

Alice Andreasen, chief corporate affairs officer at Newcastle Airport, said: “On behalf of Newcastle Airport, I’m delighted that we’re sponsoring the Inspiring Women in Business Awards for the third year running. Championing women isn’t something we do for a moment or an event, it’s something we are deeply committed to every single day.

“We know that when women feel supported, they thrive, and when women thrive, businesses and our whole region benefits.”

Alice added: “These awards shine a light on the achievements of so many women across the North East. They celebrate the stories that should be heard, recognise those making a real difference and encourage others to step forward, believe in themselves and aim even higher.

“Thank you to everyone for continuing to support these awards and please get nominating. I very much look forward to celebrating with you all later in the year.”

Entries are free and must be submitted electronically via our awards platform by noon on 4 September 2026. Shortlists will be announced later in September, with winners revealed at our Inspiring Women in Business Awards final at Newcastle Civic Centre on 27 November 2026.
