Chance to have your say on the Future of International Trade

HMRC have opened a call for evidence for UK businesses to have their say on the future of international trade.

HMRC have opened a call for evidence for UK businesses to have their say on the future of international trade.

The call for evidence is looking to hear from businesses of all sizes who import or export, and intermediaries, representative bodies or consultancies who facilitate and support global trade.  Overall, the call for evidence focusses on three key areas:

  1. The future of international trade and its impacts on commercial operations and the UK customs regime
  2. The future of customs data and how the UK customs model aligns or could better align with digitalised business operations
  3. Whether the UK’s approach to customs authorisations supports a modernised trading world

Businesses have until 15th September 2026 to have their say via this link.  Once the call has closed, the government will aim to publish a summary of responses within 12 weeks.
